Join DVRPC and members of the Regional Citizens Committee for dinner, networking, and a presentation!

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission’s (DVRPC’s) Regional Citizens Committee (RCC) is hosting a special public meeting on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 6 PM at the Franklin Commons, Phoenixville, PA.

Patricia Elkis, Associate Director, DVRPC Comprehensive Planning Unit, will present a recently completed study: The Economic Value of Protected Open Space. DVRPC and the GreenSpace Alliance (GSA) partnered to commission this study quantifying the economic value of protected open space in Southeastern Pennsylvania (SE PA). The study uses cutting-edge research to quantify the economic value of SE PA's 200,000 acres of parks, preserved farms, and natural areas in terms of property value, ecosystem services, direct use and health benefits, and economic activity. The study also includes qualitative place-based case studies that tell stories about what certain protected open spaces mean to people and communities.

DVRPC staff and RCC members look forward to your participation. Please see the flyer below for additional information, and feel free to forward this invitation to colleagues, neighbors or friends. If you have any questions, please contact Jane Meconi at 215-238-2871 or jmeconi@dvrpc.org.
