The Pennsylvania State University is a global leader in sustainability and the Campus Sustainability Office is the central unit leading and supporting operational sustainability programs, practices and policies. As we work with partners in Residence Life, Housing and Food Services, and in the various academic colleges to scale up programs engaging students in the conservation of resources, we are looking for a highly self-motivated, knowledgeable person with a passion for sustainability and proven successful experience working with students. Typical duties will include coordinating the Student Eco-Rep Program including program development, team-building, training, and assessment; making presentations to classes, student groups and other groups and tabling at events; working with faculty, students and operations experts to develop effective facilities-relevant class projects; and managing multiple communications channels to build a student sustainability community using social media, mobile devices, the Web, e-mail, video, and events (such as energy challenges). Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful candidate will have basic knowledge of programmatic assessment and experience collecting, interpreting and using data for programmatic decision-making and program improvement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. The successful candidate must thrive in a fast-paced work environment and enjoy juggling multiple priorities. Must have experience leading interactive group processes, facilitating small and large group work, and developing engaging, effective educational programs with and for students. The successful candidate will enjoy and have proven experience working with diverse audiences including international students. An ability to equally manage relationships, budgets, deadlines is essential.
