Care about small farmers? How about healthy, sustainable food? Then please join us for…

Fair Farms Campaign Kickoff Meeting!
Wednesday, September 21st
6:30– 7:30pm
Walnut St. West Public Library
201 South 40th St.
**Refreshments provided**

Interested in an internship for the fall semester? Food and Water Watch, a local nonprofit, are offering internships and great volunteer opportunities this fall based in Philadelphia for students to work on our Fair Farm Campaign. They are working to protect small farmers and the environment by urging Congress and Senator Casey in particular to implement Fair Farm Rules that will level the playing field for small and mid-sized farmers, ensuring a healthier food system and environment.

Students will have the opportunity to develop a variety of skills, including performing community outreach to thousands of people through both online and offline methods, building coalitions with a wide variety of groups, and learning to coordinate campaign events that both engage citizens and pressure targets – all in the context of learning about the health, economic, and environmental impact of US agricultural policy.

To learn more about how you can get involved before the meeting or to apply for internships/volunteer opportunities, please contact Emily Heffling at eheffling@fwwlocal.org or at 484-558-0385. Send a cover letter and resume if interested in professional opportunities.
