Roosevelt Boulevard, or "The Boulevard" as it is known to many, crosses Philadelphia's Greater Northeast section, with a daily total of 68,230 vehicles traveling up and down its 12 lanes. It is a nightmare for pedestrians to cross, as well as for commuters to drive. While some safety updates have been put in place, such as red light cameras, the City is looking for an overhaul. 

As the chief engineer of the Philadelphia Streets Department notes in the following article, "We want to treat the Boulevard as a blank canvas."
